BSH introduces digital training for its global customer service team

Europe’s largest manufacturer of home appliances uses IMC Learning Suite to provide training to over 10,000 service technicians.  
The Munich-based company BSH Home Appliances Group is one of the leading innovators in its sector. The company’s product portfolio covers a wide range of modern household appliances known under major brands such as Siemens and Bosch, as well as eight specialist brands and four regional brands that are recognised all over the world. BSH employs over 10,000 service technicians who are on hand to service customer’s equipment and give qualified, professional advice. The company aims to provide customers all over the world with the same high level of service. It therefore arranges targeted training for its technical service team. BSH has been relying on modern technologies for its trainings since 2007 working closely together with IMC. The result of this cooperation is “BSH Learning Universe”, a global training platform based on IMC’s Learning Management System, IMC Learning Suite.  

“BSH Learning Universe” gives service technicians fast and easy access to country-specific training content that will assist them with their day-to-day tasks. In order to adapt to local needs and circumstances IMC Learning Suite provides appropriate tools for editing content and the immediate delivery of adapted content to technicians locally. BSH recognises the importance of on-site, practical training on the devices it sells, so face-to-face training plays a role in the company’s training schedule. With blended learning, these face-to-face training sessions are easy to administer and real-time online training sessions can be implemented flexibly. The new training platform is now being used in 50 different countries over five continents. The company’s regular customer surveys show that the introduction of compulsory, standard qualifications has been worthwhile: Since the implementation of the training platform, customer satisfaction has increased steadily.
