PrestaShop and Klarna Team Up to Make the World Buyable

Miami, FL, February 7, 2013 – PrestaShop, the world's leading Open-source e-commerce platform powering more than 130,000 active online stores worldwide, is pleased to announce its new partnership with Klarna, a leading European online payments service designed to provide safe and simple ways to complete online transactions.

"Together, PrestaShop and Klarna will add increasing value to online merchants. Klarna´s payment methods are a safe way to reduce friction for customers, and evidence shows that it increases sales significantly for e-stores. We are happy to make Klarna available for merchants selling to countries where we operate, since it benefits all parties," said Magnus Fredin, President of Sales at Klarna.

With Klarna's services, PrestaShop merchants will be able to offer its European consumers after delivery payments, so they can order, see and feel a product before any payment is due. To make this possible, Klarna currently offers two payment options -- Klarna Invoice and Klarna Account. With Klarna Invoice, customers can shop easily by only giving minimal information and avoiding long registration processes. The customer also receives the goods first and pays later, which makes shopping safe and simple.

The Klarna Account option suits those who want to spread out payments by placing all of their online purchases onto one bill. The invoice for those purchases will be distributed in the middle of the upcoming month, allowing users to submit payment for their purchase after delivery. Klarna Account also allows the option to pay for purchases in monthly installments.

"With Klarna, online shoppers have an opportunity to see and feel a product before they pay for it," said Matt Serralta, Chief Operating Officer at PrestaShop.

Klarna's unique payment processing solution ensures buyers will never be charged for anything they haven't seen first. Therefore, it is like shopping in an actual store without ever having to leave the comfort of your home. At the same time, Klarna assumes all the risk and administration, so that merchants can focus on their business.

PrestaShop users will be happy to know that Klarna is now offered as a native feature inside PrestaShop v1.5, giving merchants access to its revolutionary online payment processing solution. All one needs in order to take advantage of this service is to install the Klarna module before signing up for an account.
