Articulate Releases Articulate Storyline 2

Gives Course Creators More Ways to Create Any Interactive Course Imaginable

Today, Articulate released Articulate Storyline 2, an award-winning e-learning authoring tool that makes it fast and easy for anyone to create online and mobile courses with interactivity, software simulations, and virtually any type of assessment. Storyline 2 includes more than 25 new and enhanced features, giving course developers more ways to bring content to life, more control over how their courses look and behave, and more tools to boost productivity.

“Keeping learners motivated and engaged is a huge challenge for many organizations,” says Adam Schwartz, Articulate Founder and CEO. “But with Storyline 2, creating fun, rewarding online courses is easier than ever. Even beginner course developers can quickly and easily build any interactive content they can imagine.”

“Storyline 2 is all grown up with new and forward-thinking features that stir the creative juices and let me once again leap forward with my design and development efforts,” says Stephanie Harnett, digital learning specialist at ICE Ltd. “Storyline 2 removes all barriers to what I can do. If I can think it, I can do it.”

More Ways to Bring Content to Life

With the dramatically enhanced HTML5 support and new Android support in Storyline 2, course developers can now build beautiful interactive courses for nearly any device, including iPads and Android tablets.

New animations and interactions give course creators more freedom to create and customize interactive content with minimal effort. Using new motion paths and triggers, they can easily create interactive animations, activities, games, and more. And with Storyline 2’s new slider interaction, they can let learners manipulate data, explore cause-and-effect relationships, and control objects and navigation.

Storyline 2 also includes 10 new entrance and exit animations and 11 new transitions.

More Ways to Perfect Content

New text editing and font support give course creators more control over how their courses look and feel. Using the all-new WYSIWYG text editor, they can easily perfect their text by customizing text spacing, alignment, size, and color; inserting custom font characters and bullets; and using all the features in their fonts, including ligatures. And with new publishing enhancements, the text in courses now looks perfect at any size and weight.

Course developers can also take advantage of new player button triggers, read-only seekbars, negative scoring, and uncompressed video to prevent learners from skipping critical content, to better understand how well learners grasp material, and to create the right video-based learning experience.

More Ways to Work Faster

With an all-new user interface, Storyline 2 users can easily find and use the tools they need to create better courses in less time than ever.

Course developers can now customize their workspaces, easily moving triggers, slide layers, and other panels anywhere on their desktops or to another monitor. And if they have great content from Articulate Studio ’13, Storyline 1, Excel, and PowerPoint projects, they can quickly import it into Storyline 2 instead of creating new content from scratch.

Additional features designed to save time and boost productivity include the animation painter, AutoRecovery, and seven new beautifully designed interaction templates.

Pricing and Availability

Articulate Storyline 2 is available now for $1,398 USD. Storyline 1 customers can upgrade for $699 USD. Course creators can also try it free for 30 days.
