12 November 2014 New Modules Improve the E-Learning Experience through Intuitiveness, Scalability and Mobility

CrossKnowledge, a Wiley brand and leader in distance learning solutions, today introduced a new collection of e-learning modules to its world-leading online library. The modules provide learners with world-class, self-contained and stand-alone e-learning sessions that cover topics related to employee management, leadership, business and sales skills, as well as soft skills for the workplace.

The release of these modules comes on the heels of CrossKnowledge's study, conducted with the Economist Intelligence Unit, which found that executives (39 percent) believe leadership development is the single most important employee competency for their organization moving forward.

"We've listened to our clients and noted that as their success in business grows, so too does their need for intuitive solutions that can advance the skill-sets of their workforce. We've also learned through research and consumer insights that learning and development is becoming an increasingly large priority for c-level executives—they understand that offering state-of-the-art learning opportunities is one the best ways to attract and retain top talent at an organization."said Steve Fiehl, Chief Innovation Officer for CrossKnowledge.

The new modules feature the latest in interactive content, and mobile integration that is adapted for touch-screen technology—allowing learners to seamlessly connect through a variety of digital channels. Strict attention has also been paid to the intuitiveness of each module to enhance the user experience. Each one combines discovery, understanding and self-diagnosis to guarantee efficiency throughout the learning process. They are also shorter in length—between 10 and 20 minutes—than traditional e-learning modules, as learners nowadays prefer more concise lessons. In addition, this new collection has been designed with CrossKnowledge's authoring and publishing system Mohive, which allows for quick customization and natively integrates web accessibility (ADA Section 508 Compliance).

The 75 new e-learning modules cover management topics such as how to respond to poor employee performance and managing client expectations; soft workplace skills such as key competencies when working across cultures and key principles of communication; sales skills like how to best conclude a sale, and understanding how to negotiate with prospects; and business skills like determining your marketing strategy and the three keys to business finance.

An additional 135 modules will also be released in April 2015, and will encompass brand topics such as:

  •  Lean management: Co-developed with Gad Allon, a professor of managerial economics and decision science at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
  • Digitalization: Co-developed with David Bel, an award-winning marketing teacher who developed Wharton's first course on digital marketing and electronic commerce.
  • Key account management co-developed with Diana Woodburn, co-author of a work of reference in this field 'Key Account Management: The Definitive Guide.'

The CrossKnowledge Library offers companies a catalog of thousands of e-learning modules in 16 languages that is designed, and can be tailored, to meet the needs of any organization that is looking to develop the hard, and soft, business and leadership skills of their employees.
