Interview (e-learning): Gourav Sinha, Marketing Manager of Adobe

bsoco: How does Adobe fit into the world of e-learning today?

Gourav Sinha: Adobe is at the center of shaping the future of the eLearning world today. Adobe solutions have played a pioneering role in the eLearning world for over a decade, and we are thankful to all the loyal customers who place their faith in us when it comes to their eLearning authoring needs. Over the last year, we have taken this credo further by enabling our customers with a brand new LMS – Adobe Captivate Prime, so now our customers can truly take charge of their eLearning environment, using this modern cloud-based enterprise LMS.

bsoco: What are the key trends in e-learning in 2016?

Gourav Sinha: I believe, that the evolution of technology trends shall define changes in information consumption behavior and that in turn, shall determine some of the major trends in eLearning in 2016. One of the top trends I foresee is mobile learning, based on the ubiquity of mobile devices, faster internet speeds and larger device form factors. The other trend that would influence eLearning in 2016 would be the integration of gamification, based on the need to keep learners engaged with the content and have them stay motivated. The last big trend I foresee is personalization, to cater to different learning styles and the need for customized learning content. Big data will further augment the intelligence in serving personalized learning.

bsoco: what is your flagship product?

Gourav Sinha: We have an industry leading authoring tool in Adobe Captivate 9, and a new cloud-based enterprise LMS that has seen some very positive early success in the Learning Management Systems space – Adobe Captivate Prime.

bsoco: What advice would you give a company while setting up its e-learning project?

Gourav Sinha: I would say to start with, having a sound plan in place, is extremely important. It always helps to plan ahead than plan for the present. There are many solutions out there today, which enable creation of rapid learning very easily. A sound storyboard always helps in creating a plan that can be visually laid out, reviewed and edited before being sent into production. The next step is authoring, and that can be achieved with common productivity tools such as MS PowerPoint or with rapid eLearning authoring tools.

The next, and probably the most important step, is to deploy or roll out the eLearning project to the learners, and this can be done using any self-service LMS. I would suggest businesses to consider mobile learning in their current and future eLearning plans as that is one of the fastest growing trends in the way eLearning is, and will be, consumed globally.

bsoco: Thank you for your answers.
